Renault 5 E-Tech
Vehicle description
The Renault 5 E-Tech is a retro-futuristic electric hit – a modern reincarnation of the cult "five" from the 70s and 80s, now 100% electric and full of charm. It's no surprise that it won the titles of European Car of the Year 2025 and Slovenian Car of the Year 2026.
Compact (3.92 m), yet very lively, with a range of up to ~260 km (40 kWh battery), 122 hp, and acceleration of around 9 seconds to 100 km/h.
The interior is playful, featuring Google integration, fun details, and surprisingly spacious for such a small car.
Short summary: the most likeable and most desirable electric car of recent years.

Starting the vehicle
To start the vehicle, hold the brake pedal and press the POWER button until you hear the acoustic warning signal (beep).
Battery charge level
You can see the battery charge level in percentages and the expected remaining kilometers on the instrument panel.
Steering wheel and mirrors adjustment
The steering wheel can be adjusted for height and reach – you will find the lever on the lower part of the steering column; push it downward to unlock it.
You adjust the mirrors using the button with arrows on the driver’s door. To adjust the left mirror, first press the button with the left mirror icon, then use the arrows to set the position of the left mirror. The same applies to the right mirror.
Shifting gears
All our vehicles have an automatic transmission – to change gears, simply hold the brake pedal and move the gear lever (R, N, D or B) to the desired position.
R (reverse) – used for reversing
N (neutral) – freewheeling mode, used for example in a car wash
B (braking / regeneration) – increases the strength of regenerative braking. When you release the accelerator pedal, the car brakes more strongly and at the same time recovers more energy back into the battery.
D (drive) – used for driving forward
Driving modes
To the left of the steering wheel there is an ECO button, which you press to turn the ECO mode on or off. When ECO mode is activated, you will see it indicated on the instrument panel.
ECO mode allows lower battery consumption, but it limits the vehicle's maximum speed to 115 km/h.
Speed limiter and cruise control
The speed limiter helps you avoid exceeding a certain speed (e.g. 50 km/h in built-up areas). Cruise control maintains your selected driving speed (e.g. a constant 120 km/h on the motorway).
On the left side of the steering wheel rim you will find the buttons for setting the speed limiter and cruise control.
By pressing the button with the speedometer icon and the word MODE, you switch between the speed limiter and cruise control.
The button with the circle-in-square icon sets the initial speed based on recognised traffic signs. With the + and – buttons you can adjust the set limit by ±1 km/h.
You activate the speed limiter and cruise control by pushing the button on the far left side of the steering wheel rim (SET). You temporarily pause (and re-activate) the speed limiter and cruise control by pressing the 0 button.
Charging
To charge the vehicle, take the appropriate cable from the trunk. Open the charging socket flap by gently pressing on it. Connect one end of the cable to the vehicle and the other end to the charging station.
To stop charging, press the vehicle unlock button on the physical key. Then unplug the cable from the vehicle, and afterwards from the charging station. After charging is complete, store the cable back in the trunk space and close the charging flap.
Ending the trip
At the end of the trip, simply turn off the vehicle by pressing the POWER button.
If you do not yet want to end the rental, take the key with you and lock the vehicle using the button on the key.
If you want to end the rental, return the key to its place – insert the key fob/chip into the small box in the glove compartment on the passenger side. To make the key box easier to find, it is illuminated with an orange light.
Then lock the vehicle via the Avant2Go app and follow the steps to complete the rental.
