“TAD INSTRUCTIONS – Tesla Assisted Driving”
Tesla with TAD – Tesla Assisted Driving feature
Before your first drive using the TAD feature, please take the time to read THESE instructions. We do not guarantee the availability of this feature with every rental.
TAD (Tesla Assisted Driving) is a driver assistance system that can drive the vehicle autonomously in almost any situation, under the driver's active supervision. Despite the system being active, the driver must continuously monitor the road, keep their hands on the steering wheel, and be ready to take control of the vehicle immediately.
The manufacturer’s instructions for using the TAD feature are available here: https://www.tesla.com/sl_si/support/tesla-assisted-driving.
RULES FOR THE USE OF THE TAD FEATURE
These rules apply in addition to the General Terms and Conditions of Electric Vehicle Sharing “Avant2Go” and the Rules for the Use of the .GO Rent Service and, with regard to the use of the TAD feature, take precedence over other terms and rules.
What is TAD. TAD (Tesla Assisted Driving) is a driver assistance system provided by Tesla. It is not automated driving and may, in certain circumstances, respond incorrectly or fail to respond. The Provider Avant Car is not the manufacturer of the TAD system and has no influence over its operation or updates.
You are still the driver. While driving, you are always the driver, even when TAD is engaged. Responsibility for safe driving lies with you. Monitor traffic at all times and be ready to take over control of the vehicle immediately. You engage TAD at your own discretion.
It is prohibited to: use TAD in violation of the rules and traffic regulations, or in countries where its use is not permitted; circumvent the driver attention monitoring (e.g. by placing a weight on the steering wheel or covering the camera); use a phone or engage in other activities while driving; set a speed above the permitted limit; act contrary to any other term or rule of the “Avant2Go” service.
Traffic offences and incident reporting. You are liable for traffic offences committed while driving, even if TAD was engaged. Report any accident, dangerous incident involving TAD or any strike to the Call Centre immediately.
Warning on forced disengagement of TAD. Warnings you receive during your drive are recorded. You are responsible for every forced disengagement of TAD (strikeout) resulting from such warnings. If you receive two or more forced disengagements, the Provider Avant Car may charge you a fee in accordance with the Price List and disable the use of TAD for all your future drives. The Provider Avant Car records the number of forced disengagements before and after each drive.
Availability. TAD is not necessarily always available. Tesla may modify, restrict, or disable TAD at any time, at its own business discretion, due to external factors, or based on user behavior..
Liability. The Provider Avant Car shall not be liable for any damage resulting from the operation or non-operation of the TAD system, from your decision to use it, or from its use in breach of these terms or of the manufacturer’s terms. You shall be liable for any damage arising from a breach of these terms, in accordance with the “Avant2Go” Contractual Documentation.
Amendments. These instructions form part of the other “Avant2Go” documentation and may be amended in accordance with the rules governing amendments to the other “Avant2Go” documentation.
Data. Tesla processes certain vehicle data for the purposes of operating and improving the TAD functionality. Tesla cannot link this data to a specific user of the vehicle. Enabling any features that result in the collection of personal data, which the Provider Avant Car cannot disable in advance is prohibited. If a user enables such a feature, the user alone decides on the recordings and data thus obtained and is responsible for them.
IMPORTANT: IMPROPER USE AND DISENGAGEMENT OF THE TAD FEATURE
If improper use of the TAD feature is detected, use of the features will be temporarily suspended for approximately one week when you or another driver of your vehicle receive three or five forced disengagement warnings, depending on the vehicle configuration.
A forced disengagement occurs when the TAD system disengages for the remainder of the drive after the driver has received multiple audible and visual inattentiveness warnings. To check how many forced disengagements you have remaining before access for your vehicle is temporarily suspended, or when the suspension will be lifted, select “Controls” > “Assisted Driving”.
A forced disengagement expectedly expires after half a week if no new forced disengagement warning is received for your vehicle during that time.
Further details are available in the Owner’s Manual on the vehicle’s touchscreen by tapping “Controls” > “Service” > “Owner’s Manual”.
As the system may be upgraded, the official rules published on the website of the manufacturer Tesla always prevail: https://www.tesla.com/sl_si.
