What is car sharing?

Last updated: August 3, 2026

Car sharing is a modern form of mobility that allows users to access a vehicle exactly when they need it – without the costs of ownership, insurance, maintenance, or parking at Avant2Go's designated parking spaces. Through the mobile app, the user reserves, unlocks, and uses the vehicle, and payment is adapted to actual use (essentially based on time and kilometers driven).

The service is intended for individuals and companies who need a flexible, cost-effective, and sustainable alternative to owning a vehicle or classic rental – ideal for short trips around town, business tasks, or occasional, even longer-term use.

On average, a privately owned vehicle sits unused more than 90% of the time, yet still causes costs for the owner during that time. Car sharing can reduce an individual's mobility costs by up to 50% or more.

The GO Share service (car sharing) of the Avant2Go system operates without harmful emissions, and the sustainable aspect of this car-sharing model is further emphasized by the use of electric energy that also comes from renewable sources.
